METRO GYMNASTICS POLICIES

Safety

At Metro Gymnastics, our primary concern is your child’s safety.  We have an excellent student/coach ratio in our classes.  Even though the gym is extremely busy during after school hours, we have at least seven instructors in the gym at all times.  Like other successful gyms, we use every station available in the gym and rotate throughout the stations.

All of the instructors will be discussing and reviewing the safety rules on each of the events with the students.  As we teach your child our gymnastics skills, they will be accomplishing the skills in a safe manner.  In January, we will have another review of safety rules for the gym, as well as celebrating a New Year.

We often have parents ask how they may help their children at home.  For obvious safety reasons, we do not encourage parents to spot children at home or allow children to attempt new skills in the backyard or schoolyard.  Skills, which have not been mastered, should be practiced only with proper matting and a trained instructor.  It would be more beneficial for students to practice strength or flexibility exercises such as crunches, chin ups or stretching.
